A 200 sqm regional studio redesigned into a flexible multi-format environment with updated equipment, integrated AR capability and a workflow prepared for daily broadcast output.

The project restructured a legacy floorplate into one coordinated studio language where news, talk formats, weekly recaps and thematic programs can switch within a compact operational envelope.

01 / Challenge and Solution

Rebuilt for multiple formats inside one disciplined floorplate.

Challenge

A legacy studio needed a modern broadcast reset.

The original studio had served for roughly two decades and no longer matched current production needs. The brief was to modernize the space on a controlled budget, support several program formats and bring in AR capability without creating a heavy operational burden for the broadcaster.

Four zones, one coherent studio language and remote AR support.

The solution started with a technical audit and a full studio rethink. The 200 sqm floor was organized into four program zones, while lighting, scenic logic, AR integration and the virtual extension were aligned into one system that could be managed without a large specialist team on site.

Remote-managed AR graphics workflow

AR scenes can be operated remotely on a subscription basis, allowing the channel to access advanced graphics without maintaining a permanent in-house AR team.

Unreal digital twin virtual extension

The entire physical studio was recreated in Unreal Engine, giving the project a scalable visual layer for compositing, set extension and future content development.

Aputure lighting system hybrid control

The unified LED lighting setup can be controlled through a grandMA3 console or a mobile application, balancing professional precision with daily operational ease.

Live presenter mobility on-air movement

Presenters can move between the zones during live output, which keeps the channel visually dynamic and helps different formats feel distinct inside the same envelope.

Virtual city window news signature

A real-time virtual city window was added to the news set to create a stronger live identity and a broader urban backdrop without architectural reconstruction.
